The digitalisation of accounting and invoicing in Slovenia is approaching another important milestone.
From 1 January 2028, mandatory electronic invoicing between business entities is set to become part of the Slovenian business environment.
Although implementation is still some time away, businesses should not leave preparations until the last minute.
Companies will need to review how they issue, receive and process invoices and determine whether their existing accounting and business software will support the required electronic exchange of invoice data.
The change will be particularly important for businesses that currently rely heavily on PDF invoices, email exchanges or paper documentation.
