Slovenia introduces visas for digital nomads
As of November 2025, Slovenia will become one of the countries that allows digital nomads – individuals who perform remote work for foreign employers or clients – to come and work.
The law stipulates that foreigners will be able to apply for a temporary residence permit for up to 12 months if they meet the following conditions:
proven work for a foreign company or clients,
sufficient financial resources for stay,
regulated health insurance.
The permit will not be extendable, and re-application will be possible six months after its expiration.
Slovenia is thus joining the group of countries that want to attract experts from IT, marketing, finance and other digital industries.
💡 What does this mean for companies?
Slovenian companies will be able to cooperate more easily with foreign experts working from Slovenia, while this change will also bring greater recognition to the country as an attractive destination for modern forms of work.
📅 The law enters into force on November 21, 2025.
